Training Grant: ECM

Interior construction companies affiliated with the Social Fund for the Furniture Industry can apply for a training grant through the Expertise Centre for the Furniture Industry and Interior Construction (ECM).

This grant scheme is intended to reduce the costs of training and education, allowing your company to benefit fully from the latest technologies while enabling your team to fully master industry best practices. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results from this automation process together with you and your team.

Which courses qualify for the ECM Training Grant?

The ECM Training Grant can be used for almost all courses and training programmes related to an employee’s current or future role. In addition, the course must be delivered by an external training provider and completed in full.

On the ECM website, you can find more information about which training courses do and do not qualify.

How can you apply for an ECM Training Grant?

Both the employer and the employee (if the employee has paid for the course themselves) can apply for the training grant.

Follow the steps below to submit your application:

  • Select a training provider: Choose a suitable course that matches the employee’s current or future role and is delivered by an external training provider.
  • Complete the course: Ensure that the course has been completed and keep the required documentation.
  • Submit your application to ECM: Visit the official ECM website and complete the application form. Applications for 2025 must be submitted to ECM no later than 1 February 2026.
  • Await approval: After submission, ECM will assess your application. If approved, you will receive further instructions. If there is any doubt whether all requirements have been met, ECM may verify grant claims through an audit.
  • Claim the costs: After submitting your application through the portal, you will receive confirmation that your application has been received. Within a few weeks, you will receive a specification of the granted subsidy, after which the amount will be transferred to the bank account provided.

Training Grant: SSWT

Companies covered by the Collective Labour Agreement for the Joinery Industry can apply for a training grant through the Foundation for Training and Employment in the Joinery Industry (SSWT) to receive reimbursement for training and employee absence costs.
This grant scheme is intended to reduce the costs of training and education, allowing your company to benefit fully from the latest technologies while enabling your team to fully master industry best practices. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results from this automation process together with you and your team.

Which courses qualify for the SSWT Grant?

Various training courses qualify for this grant. Below are some common examples:

  • VCA (Health, Safety and Environment Certification)
  • Automation
  • Driving Skills
  • Personal Development
  • Confidential Counsellor Training
  • Product Knowledge

How can you apply for an SSWT Grant?

You are free to choose your own training provider. To determine whether your company and the selected training course qualify for a grant, follow these steps:

  • Submit a grant application form to SSWT at least four weeks before the start of the course.
  • Await approval: If your application is approved, you will receive pre-printed attendance and reimbursement forms from SSWT.
  • Complete the course: Ensure that your employees attend the training and use the pre-printed forms to record attendance.
    After successfully completing the course, submit the completed forms to receive your grant reimbursement.
