Timmerfabriek Palmen - Stramproy (Limburg)

We have been working with Archimede for about 2 years now and we use the CAD/CAM module. The daily use of Archimede simplifies the design and production process of our window frames. We can create various frame types such as tilt-and-turn windows, lift-and-slide windows, doors, windows, and combinations thereof. Details such as various decorative mouldings can also be selected per frame.

After drawing, the cutting lists are also ready for production. After configuring the hardware, glazing, panels, etc., we can generate the CAM files. These are then read by our CNC machine (SCM Accord 42 FX).

A major advantage is that we can draw and also produce all shapes — think round arches, basket arches, angled sides, or a custom shape drawn via the CAD module. Archimede has become an important part of our joinery factory. Drawing and controlling our SCM Accord 42 FX has accelerated significantly — individual frame/window components or windows and doors for milling can all be controlled through it.

The option to place 1 or 2 parts consecutively on the machine also increases production capacity. We also have a connection to our crosscut saw so that it can be read directly into the software. CNCware is a young and dynamic team — they respond quickly to questions and are continuously working on improving the software based on feedback. This demonstrates their commitment to delivering a high-quality software package and meeting the needs of the customer.

Timmerbedrijf Weijers - De Cocksdorp (Noord-Holland)

About three quarters of a year ago we started using Archimede. We make window frames and doors, but mostly large barn doors for farmhouses. Archimede is the beginning of our automation. We benefit greatly from it. We can create quotes more easily. It goes much faster, more targeted and more precisely. But because of this we can now achieve a higher production speed. We save on materials and can purchase with greater precision. It is very clear and straightforward. We also find it an advantage that it is 1 programme with 4 clear sections. We are still a small company (4 people), but in the future we would like to purchase the planning module. As for the support? Great! Very helpful. I had to get used to sending tickets myself as I prefer to call… 😉 We are very happy with our choice. It is the first step towards automation through purchasing the software.

Bruins in Hout - Ruinerwold (Drenthe)

I have been working with Archimede for about 2 years now. Archimede is a great programme to work with, especially because there is so much you can do with it. The advantages are that I can do and learn a lot myself. I do not need a programmer, because most things are already standard in Archimede. I am very satisfied with the support. CNCware is easy to reach and when I am looking for a solution, they respond quickly. Below you can see the result.

Timmerfabriek Harmsen - Loosdrecht (Noord-Holland)

Following an article in the Houtkrant, we got in touch with Matthijs in March 2021 and purchased the software in April of that year. In February 2022 we had the opportunity to receive the first machine components. After fine-tuning a few things in the software, we have been fully producing via the Archimede software since May 2022. The main consideration for switching to this software was the time savings we could achieve (and have achieved). Our old software was not able to control our CNC machine, the SCM Accord 25 FX. As a result, after drawing up quotes and drawings, we still had to perform a separate step, then manually program the components before they could be machined. With Archimede it is possible to control the machine directly after creating the quote and drawing — in short, a win-win situation. We have now been working with the Archimede software for over 2 years and are still very satisfied every day. Should anything come up, Matthijs and his team are always easy to reach and quickly address and resolve any challenges.

Machinale Houtbewerking Sjaak de Visser - Aagtekerke (Zeeland)

In Aagtekerke, on one of the beautiful Zeeland islands, you will find the joinery factory of the De Visser family, started about 15 years ago by Sjaak de Visser. In the joinery factory, high-quality staircases, window frames, windows and doors (and related products) are made. The joinery factory generally handles small projects, but series production also occasionally occurs. It has since built a good reputation in the Walcheren region. This has, among other things, meant that they can occasionally be found as far as Amsterdam.

In the meantime, the next generation (Jan de Visser) has joined the business. Jan closed his own company and fully focused on the joinery factory. Last year the joinery factory was modernised and significant investments were made in, among other things, a 5-axis CNC machine with a high working height and a laser projector. Additional staff were also hired to be able to produce the staircases (and window frames).
To simplify and automate the drawing and production of staircases, and after comparison with other parties, the decision was made to go with the Staircon CAM5 package by Elecosoft. Staircon was chosen because of its attractive and modern appearance and ease of use.
“The package simply looked good. Now that we are working with it, developing a staircase goes much faster and any changes are easier to implement. For example, a dog-leg staircase is easy to work out in Staircon and the control output to the CNC machine is also good. Measurement differences can (almost) no longer occur in this way,” says Jan de Visser.
In the future, the De Visser family wants to grow further in exclusivity and quality. A switch to Staircon CAM5+ for the production of curved strings and wreaths is possibly still an option.

GBS Houtbewerking en Interieur - Bleskensgraaf (Zuid-Holland)

I work together with my eldest daughter in the business. For the past few months we have been using SmartCabinet in combination with my Homag CNC machine. This provides an enormous time saving and precision in making kitchens and all other types of cabinets. Contact with Joost is excellent, and together we always find a solution! Enclosed are a number of photos (there are not many yet as I have only just started.) A walk-in wardrobe was the first project with SmartCabinet!

Handig in Hout - Joure (Friesland)

In 2022 we purchased SmartCabinet from Matthijs. Matthijs installed everything and linked the programme to the CNC. Through training sessions and videos we learned to use the software. It is fairly simple and easy to use. As a result we can now quickly draw and adjust an interior and the biggest advantage is that a production drawing for the CNC is immediately linked to it. Because Matthijs linked our own CNC machine and tools to SmartCabinet, the files can be sent through to the workshop on a one-to-one basis. The support of SmartCabinet is excellent. Whether you call or email, you get a quick response and are always helped properly. We are now also considering purchasing a panel saw so that we can then also purchase the cutting optimisation module from SmartCabinet. We can then run production even more simply and quickly. What I find most impressive is that SmartCabinet calculates all materials so that we already know in advance how much material is needed. We do not yet use the quotation option, but that would still be a great addition for us. We are very satisfied with SmartCabinet and highly recommend it to all interior builders who want to make their work preparation faster and easier.

Dexter Interieur BV - Wognum (Noord-Holland)

SmartCabinet promised to be an easy-to-learn programme with good CNC integration. With this we wanted to make our work preparation easier, more structured and more professional. These expectations have been met. We can produce more and deliver more neatly finished products. In addition, it is manageable with one person in work preparation. A major advantage is the easy CNC integration. With a few clicks we create CNC files for our two different machines. The installation and training went well, by the way. (2 days of work.) At the end of that week we produced the first cabinet from SmartCabinet, after 2 to 3 weeks we were producing at full capacity with SmartCabinet. As for the support: the support department usually gets in touch within 1 day when something is not right. We export the views of our cabinets from SmartCabinet in DXF format to AutoCAD. The CNC files we export as PMGX to Maestro. One of our favourite projects is a project in Amsterdam. A beautiful kitchen in walnut and lacquer combined with a beautiful stone worktop and kitchen island. See below. Finally: please keep up the great collaboration between user and developer.

Harrie Botter Trappen - Kerkenveld

For over thirty years, staircases have been made in the Dutch village of Kerkenveld by Harrie Botter. In recent years the next generation has taken on an increasingly important role within the company. The future is being carefully crafted and automating the production process is a necessary part of that.

“We have always kept up with the times and increasingly acquired machines that were digitally controlled. We also want to be ready for the future and have thought long and hard about purchasing a CNC machine. Because someone left the production team and because it was difficult to find staff, a first CNC machine turned out to be truly necessary,” say Nick and Lisa Botter.

A CNC machine, the Busellato Jet Master T XL S6/15, was purchased together with Staircon CAD/CAM software for designing staircases and controlling the CNC machine.

“With our machine supplier we have a relationship of many years. They are very familiar with our company and the way we work. They researched which CNC machine is best suited for us. As staircase software we chose Staircon because of its ease of use and the direct control of our machine.”

“Previously we designed our staircases manually with pencil and paper. We had expected the transition to be complex, but this turned out to be much easier than expected. The switch from ‘by hand’ to ‘on screen’ even went very smoothly.”

Because the machine and the software are still new to us, we sometimes still have some minor difficulties, but we can always count on the support of both our machine supplier Talen Machines and Staircon.

Van den Oosten Tifa & interieur BV - 's Gravendeel (Zuid-Holland)

We are Van den Oosten Bouw from ‘s Gravendeel and over four years ago we specialised in exclusive CNC woodworking. For contractors and private clients we make all types of wooden window frames, windows, shopfronts and doors. But also staircases, furniture, cabinets, tables and kitchens.

We made an inventory of our requirements and the possibilities of the software. It turned out that this was actually all possible with Archimede. Especially for bespoke work, such as drawing and developing special shapes, Archimede adds value. Think of arched work and pointed frames. For arched work we now also immediately have the correct glass schedules.

Another major advantage is that the Saomad and the SCM Accord can now be controlled from a single package. The SCM Accord can now also be controlled from Archimede for panel doors and moulded panels.

We currently run the entire factory on Archimede. An additional advantage is that CNCware also has software for staircase production (Staircon), which we also own, and a cabinet configurator (SmartCabinet). This way we ultimately have three software packages for the entire production and a single point of contact for service and maintenance. We are very satisfied with this. We receive good support and service. As soon as we call Matthijs (or one of his colleagues), he always immediately assists remotely. We also received good help and clear explanations with the SCM Accord. In short, we are very satisfied!
